Pandemic and exhibitions in the food sector. From stands to webinars. waveco®’s virtual stage

01 June 2021 / Blog

The current health emergency changed, perhaps forever, the organisation and the way the world of exhibitions in the Ho.Re.Ca. and wine & food sectors did things.

During the last months, a Covid-19-measures adaptation mood in national and international exhibitions led to transforming the several, traditionally in-person events into digital events, in addition to the numerous virtual initiatives created with the purpose of promoting commercial relations in Italy and abroad.

The exhibitions in this field expanded their offer focusing on digital tools, trying by that to limit the loss of this annus horribilis: the extended closure compelled by the health emergency determined a 70% decline in turnover, and even the reopening, beginning on june 15th (in Italy, at least) will still be affected by rules and difficult travels, especially for people coming from abroad.

Let’s keep investing in digital then, safely planning all the new dates for the events in the second part of this year or postponing them to 2022.

Investments in the virtual world brought some benefits: certainly a drop in costs, and above all the participation in these online exhibitions expanded the exposure potential of companies, both on the internal market and the commercial relations abroad. Virtual events of this kind have allowed to ideally intercept a much bigger number of international buyers compared to in-person events, thanks to the digital channels that can reach a wider public compared to the traditional channels, which are limited by the necessity of being physically at the exhibition both for exhibitors and visitors.

However, virtual exhibitions can’t recreate that feature set typical in the traditional events, so full of people, meetings, presentations and mini-shows that make this kind of events so appreciated and profitable for italian companies, able to draw attention from visitors from all over the world thanks to products that are symbols of the Made in Italy. These factors are crucial in many respects and irreplaceable, and probably digital tools will never be able to fully take their place.

But, nevertheless, we are sure that once the pandemic is over, digital events will stay as  a useful tool to enhance a company’s exposure.

That’s why Next Cooking Generation, the company who brought on the market the innovative focused-ultrasound technique of induced maturation© by waveco® , invested in this field by creating a platform on the site www.waveco.it where you’ll get to know better the potential of the new 2021 machine.

On the section “webinar” of this site, users will access a virtual waveco®  class and have access for free to presentations, seminars and insights on the machine, on the techniques and benefits provided by it, and above all they’ll get familiar with the experience of chef users that will share with the participants the work carried out with this new 2021 machine.

Users and clients will then have a virtual world always at hand, where they will get to know better and better the use in the kitchen of the innovative focused-ultrasound technique of induced maturation by© waveco®.
